Trash to Treasure- Making a Blackboard

I have been holding onto this huge old oak picture frame I found amongst some old family things.

The frame had dents, cracks and bora holes all over it making it a perfect candidate for a trash to treasure makeover!

Using a blackboard/chalkboard paint I painted an old piece of ply that I had Dan cut to fit the frame.

I painted two coats of the blackboard/chalkboard paint on to the ply board.

I also decided to use  the blackboard/chalkboard paint on an empty coffee jar, I painted two coats inside the rectangle I created with painters tape.

Here is the final result of my trash to treasure project… a large blackboard for the office!

And the coffee jar saved from the trash is now up on a shelf holding chalk!
